| Still a long way to go |
When last we reported on our rebuild the house was still particolored on the outside and incompletely finished inside. We had no appliances, no exterior structures (pergola, deck, porch, cleverly roofed chicken shed), and no front door. Today, the job is finished, at least in the technical and not uninimportant sense that our building permit, opened in December 2023 for this project, is now signed off and complete. We have had this project in mind almost since we first started living here in 2013. We opened consultation with a local architect in 2020, met with Town Planning in the summer of 2023, and demo'd the place in December of that year. In Fairfax, this counts as fast and certainly the outcome is good. Want to see the results? Come visit.
